Hard Way and Tyke make the cut

Hard Way will run Wednesday in the 2,400 meter handicap on the fibersand in Deauville on Wednesday, and Cape Tycoon will get in on the 1,300-meter handicap on Thursday. And it looks like George (Email Exit) will get a run Thursday, too; we have a priority along with 18 others, and 16 can race, so the chances are good. He’s been working very well so it will be interesting to see what happens. In England, he never ran longer than six furlongs (1,200 meters) and he will tackle 1,900 meters in Deauville. But he has been working like a horse that wants the distance, so we’ll see how it goes. Tyke seems in good form, and Hard Way is his usual self, which means he should have a good chance. After this, though, he definitely gets put up for the winter regardless of how he comes out of it. Pixie, Belle and Versaki are still hoping to get in somewhere but will have to wait until next week to try again; Derringbay should get a run next week.

  1. Finally, tyke get to race… i really hope he and hard way does well!!!! as for Email Exit has got he COOLEST name on the yard!!!! GEORGE!!! (lol = laugh out loud) GOOD LUCK!!!!

  2. Just watched Hard Way’s race. The race looked more like a late afternoon stroll; than a stamina test which he needed.
Hard Way is an out and out stayer and should have forced the pace if there was no pace in the race, and made it a real test of stamina.
It’s no wonder the horse was chopped for speed in the straight.
Unless there was something wrong with the horse, I don’t understand the jockeys riding tactics at all. It just turned into a short sprint, with Hard Way unable to cope not surprisingly.

  3. I am so sorry for your horse’s injury. It is always hard to train a horse that has pre existing issues. You really never know what has been done to the animal. Good luck with the others!
